Poem A Day Challenge Day #30 (Final) – Cracks In The Concrete

852 (2)

Spidery, sharp, edges end

cracks and fissures
no one will ever mend
eyesore to some, yet in his eyes
they become something more
artworks in disguise

Such landscapes and faces
spring from these defects
other times and other places
woven from rents and rifts
tapestries of awe and wonder
blessed are the artist’s gifts

Now I seek the cracks in concrete
I look for every minuscule flaw
Through his eyes I am replete
Stories they brew for me
Shadow and verse and hymn
Such wonders do I see!
Not the least of which is him
